My Sunday Times column:

““Diane Abbott is not alone in failing to do her sums.  Her car crash interview on LBC on the cost of a larger police force is just another example of the appalling fiscal, financial and economic knowledge of most politicians.
This week it was the turn of her colleague, Shadow Education Secretary Angela Rayner, to have a maths lesson from LBC presenter Nick Ferrari.  Explaining Labour’s policy to limit school class sizes to below 30, she couldn’t answer how many children this would impact.  Mr Ferrari could.
The leaked Labour manifesto should also be marked F for its maths.  Corbyn plans to nationalise energy, rail and mail.  Just to buy out all the shareholders in National Grid would cost at least £39bn at the current share price.   Has Corbyn added up the bill for his nationalisation plans?”
